31 defective print cartridge.

Action

  • Open toner cartridge access door and remove toner cartridge.
  • Reinstall toner cartridge and close door. If error persists, replace toner cartridge.

Primary Messege

32 unsupported print cartridge.

Action

Open and close toner cartridge access door. If error does not clear, remove and reinsert toner cartridge. If error persists, remove toner cartridge, turn off printer replace toner cartridge and turn printer back on. If the error does not clear, inspect smart cartridge contact pins for damage. The pins are located inside the printer on the right hand side near the rear of the machine.

Printer Condition

Printouts smearing and general poor quality.

Action

Check paperpath for loose toner. Clean and replace toner cartridge if necessary.

Loud noise while printing.

Action

Check fuser cleaning wand for excess toner, and replace if necessary.

Do not remove and flip the felt on the cleaning wand. The botton of the felt has adhesive on it, and if the adhesive gets on the fusing assembly it will destroy it.

It is also important to have a cleaning wand in the printer at all times. If it is dirty please replace it, but do not run the machine with nothing there.

Grey background on printouts.

Action

The paperpath may have loose toner and paper dust built up. Remove the toner cartridge and clean out the inside of the printer with a towel, or compressed air. Compressed air may cause printouts to appear worse, but it will clean up as you print. Do not use solveants inside the printer because they could damage the transfer roller or charge roller. A damp cloth may be used, but the machine must be turned off and unplugged before doing so.
